Chinese Heritage Foundation Announces Funding Priorities

The Chinese Heritage Foundation at The Minneapolis Foundation announces its grant application guidelines and funding priorities. Founded a year ago, the Chinese Heritage Foundation aims to preserve and promote the understanding of Chinese history, arts and culture, and heritage among all Minnesotans. Grants will be issued on the recommendation of advisors elected by the donors to the fund. Grants may also be awarded by individual donor-advised funds created under the Chinese Heritage Foundation umbrella.

The foundation plans to issue grant awards twice a year, on May 1 and November 1. The deadlines for applications are March 15 and September 15 respectively. Detailed information on application guidelines and funding priorities is available at the foundation’s Web site.

All Minnesota charitable organizations are eligible to apply for funding. Specific questions may be submitted via e-mail to grantapp@chineseheritagefoundation.org.

Ming Tchou, founder of the Chinese Heritage Foundation, is excited about the progress the foundation has made in the recent months. "I am really looking forward to contributing to the understanding of Chinese history and culture in Minnesota," she said. "In this Internet age where cyberspace has overcome the physical limitations of long distances, we should work all the harder to break barriers and build friendships and understanding."
