3M Donates Computers to Hallie Q. Brown Center

St. Paul-based 3M has donated six computers to the Hallie Q. Brown Community Center in St. Paul, as part of the Capital City Education Initiative.

The Center will use the computers to offer computer training and instruction, and will make the computers available for community members and local children's programs. The computers are connected to the Internet thanks to a donation by Comcast.

"As a partner in Mayor Kelly's Saint Paul Capital City Education Initiative, 3M is pleased to help further goal to increase access to technology in the community," said Barbara Kaufmann, manager, 3M corporate contributions and community affairs. "As a diversified technology company, 3M recognizes the expanding role technology plays in society, and access to that technology is essential. The Hallie Q. Brown/MLK Center is an important community and neighborhood resource, and we trust this new lab will serve students and their families well."

"These generous gifts from our business partners to the community typify the relationships that have long made St. Paul a great city," Mayor Randy Kelly said. "We are working to foster more of these relationships. They are especially critical given the new budget realities the city faces."
