MCF hired Ryan Johnson as its first public
policy fellow. In addition to working on his master’s of public affairs, Ryan is
employed with the Children’s Defense Fund as an outreach specialist, where he is
working to strengthen partnerships with nonprofits, public agencies, schools and
faith groups. Ryan also has worked with the Minnesota Literacy Council as well
as the United Way of Dane County.

Pamela Wheelock was named vice president and
leadership/community engagement team leader for Bush Foundation. Since 2002,
Wheelock has been executive vice president and CFO of Minnesota Sports and
Entertainment (a parent company of the Minnesota Wild hockey team). She will
continue to consult with that organization on special projects. Wheelock has a
long history in public service, serving as Minnesota Commissioner of Finance in
the Ventura administration; several posts at the City of Saint Paul under Mayors
Coleman, Scheibel and Latimer; executive budget officer for Minnesota; and a
legislative assistant. |

John Otterlei was named managing director,
investments for Bush Foundation. In this new position, Otterlei will lead the
foundation's investment strategy efforts, and selecting and monitoring its
investment managers and advisor. Most recently, Otterlei was at Piper Jaffray in
a 27-year career that included the positions of head of mergers and
acquisitions, and head of the private capital group. Otterlei is a trustee of
the F.B. Heron Foundation, where he chairs the investment committee. |

Pat O'Brien was named director of human
resources for Minnesota Community Foundation and The Saint Paul Foundation. She
was previously the associate director of human resources at St. Olaf College. |
