MCF has released the 2023 Giving in Minnesota report, a comprehensive look at giving by Minnesota grantmakers in 2021, the latest year for which data is available.
The IRS has cleared its backlog of publishing 990 data that resulted in reporting delays since the beginning of COVID-19. This allows our reporting of Minnesota grantmaking to return to its previous schedule.
Read this edition of Giving in Minnesota for:
- An overview of our state's 2021 giving picture, including both organizational and individual giving
- The amount given by corporate, community, and independent foundations, and the largest givers in each category
- Grantee locations of Minnesota-based foundations
- Giving by subject area: How much money went to the arts, education, health, human services and more, and who the top funders in these subjects are.
