Update - Minnesota Helps - North Minneapolis Recovery Fund

The generous support of individual donors combined with contributions from local foundations and corporations to the Minnesota Helps - North Minneapolis Recovery Fund has raised more than $1 million dollars! This fund has provided affected residents of North Minneapolis with immediate support in the aftermath of the tornado and will support the long-term recovery of the community through grant dollars to nonprofit organizations.

To date the fund has supported the following organizations:

• The Disaster Recovery Center in North Minneapolis, which has provided 2,200 households with emergency supplies.
• The Northside Community Response Team to make repairs to 30-50 homes and protect uninsured homeowners from further property damage.
• EMERGE’s StreetWerks youth program to assist Northside residents in removing debris and beautification efforts.
• Urban Homeworks to increase participation of Northside minority contractors in tornado response efforts and assist in their certification and quality control.
