(Aug. 14, 2014) – The Women’s Fund at the Central Minnesota Community Foundation announced today that an outpouring of community support made it possible to award $94,000 to local programs that empower girls and women. The one-day Women on Stage event this summer raised over $95,000.
With the proceeds from Women on Stage, the Women’s Fund awarded $15,000 grants each to:
The remaining proceeds from the event support the Women’s Fund Endowment to provide ongoing funding for programs that empower women and girls in the community. The Women’s Fund announced today the awarding of the following grants through the endowment:
The Women’s Fund Grants Committee also selected the following to receive grants from the Julianne Williams Fund, which provides essential support for local programs that promote the building of self-esteem, safety, confidence and overall empowerment of girls and young women:
This year’s Women on Stage event focused on HERStory in History and was hosted at the Stearns History Museum. The event drew more than 400 people for a casual evening of entertainment, food and history activities. The Women’s Fund has raised more than $1 million for to local programs since it started in 2002.
The Central Minnesota Community Foundation (CMCF), based in St. Cloud, is a public charity that administers over 600 charitable funds totaling more than $100 million for the benefit of local residents.
