As director of member services, Maria works to develop and strengthen relationships with MCF members and other philanthropic and community partners, and she develops new methods of engaging current and prospective grantmakers. She also partners with the manager of member services to develop and oversee a wide variety of educational programs, issue briefings and network meetings throughout the year.
When Maria joined MCF in 2011, she brought extensive professional and volunteer experience in foundations, nonprofits and member associations. She has a master’s in nonprofit management from Hamline University in St. Paul and a bachelor’s degree in public health, social work and educational psychology from the University of Minnesota—Twin Cities. Maria is passionate about social justice and believes she can best serve the community by helping organizations fulfill their missions of a fair and equitable society for all.
Maria lives in Minneapolis with her husband and their two young daughters. She likes to stay active, spend time with family and keep up on current affairs.
