With the Minnesota 2024 legislative session beginning February 12, MCF has finalized our 2024 advocacy agenda for the year. This year's advocacy agenda includes:

  • Promoting charitable giving and a strong charitable sector
  • Strengthening democratic systems and civic participation
  • Supporting disaster recovery, community resilience, and climate action

MCF’s Advocacy Agenda highlights our anticipated advocacy priorities for the year. These are the set of issues we plan to focus on with a proactive commitment of time and resources. View the agenda and learn more about what MCF plans to work on here.

In addition to the Agenda, MCF has a Public Policy Compendium that enumerates our full compendium of public policy positions adopted by MCF’s board. We have an ongoing commitment to monitor and act on the issues included in the Compendium.

February marks the beginning of the Minnesota legislative session as well as the month of Foundations on the Hill. MCF and some of its members will be in Washington DC for Foundations on the Hill, an annual event that brings together foundation leaders from across the country for meetings with members of Congress and staff about key issues of importance to foundations and the broader nonprofit sector. MCF’s Advocacy Agenda and Public Policy Compendium guide MCF’s state and federal advocacy efforts.
